Headteacher's Welcome

Thank you for visiting our website. I hope our website provides you with the information you need about our school. The Flourish With Us staff team are committed to making a difference to every child that passes through our doors. We firmly believe every child we work with is able to achieve, succeed and gain strong academic achievements. We aim to improve outcomes for children and create better futures.

At Flourish, we provide specialist support for all our children within a safe and secure environment. We are a caring and supportive school with excellent relationships with our children and their families. We place high emphasis on the relationships we establish in school and in providing a safe and consistent environment, which in turn supports our children to learn.

All children are assessed on entry, to enable us to provide them with a highly personalised education package, which allows them to make accelerated progress; their progress is carefully monitored by all staff who work hard to make sure every child is successful.
Many of our children have missed key elements from their previous learning and once they have begun to re-engage with school structures, we seek to narrow the gaps in their education, build self-esteem, confidence and resilience.

I am proud to lead a committed body of staff on the next part of the school’s development. I have high expectations that we will work together in supporting the social and academic potential in all of our children.

Intent

Flourish With Us provides a multi-sensory, topic-based curriculum which ensures full coverage of the Primary Curriculum and the standards relevant to our pupils, in order to provide inspirational provision that meets the diverse Special Educational Needs and Disability needs within our specialist primary setting.  This enables every pupil to reach their potential socially, emotionally, academically and physically and to simply be themselves.

Subject knowledge and transferrable skills are developed across the curriculum. High priority is given to first-hand, memorable experiences which motivate our pupils to be effective learners to explore, work collaboratively, find solutions, and actively enjoy developing new knowledge and skills. Pupils are encouraged and supported to be creative within a language-rich environment. Communication is key to us promoting reading and vocabulary.

Evidence-based interventions support pupils to build resilience, executive functioning skills and enable pupils to be confident learners.

The Grange Primary School used the services of Flourish With Us for a year. The provision and outreach support for pupils and the families who engaged with this service was invaluable. The teams vast understanding, knowledge and experience of social, emotional, mental health and behavioural issues, that can be barriers to some pupils’ learning, was clearly visible in how they catered for particular pupils’ needs. This was carried out in a caring, stimulating environment and resulted in positive outcomes. Wherever possible, academic needs were incorporated into practical projects. This ensured that pupils reintegrated into the main classroom successfully. Communication was regular with the school which facilitated each pupil in making the desired progress. As the Headteacher, I can confidently state that all of our pupils who accessed this establishment, were reintegrated successfully into their main classrooms and were equipped with coping strategies to regulate themselves.
